We met at Kibroth Hattaavah
\nIn a symbiotic palaver
\nWe are thriving as joint decision makers
\nFrom a climate change crisis
\nAnd we were hard
\nAs hard as air
\nAnd we were so bold to lay down our lives<\/p>\n
We came in as a disease
\nLike slay yeasts
\nWe infected thousands
\nLike personae non gratae
\nAnd we learned fast to be streetwise<\/p>\n
Our infamy was heavy
\nBut our aim was heaven
\nWe dug in steep
\nAnd rallied deep
\nAnd prayed to God with all of our might
\nWe had no science
\nTo cure our signs<\/p>\n
And it was dark
\nSo dark as night
\nBut held on to each other
\nLike nation to nation
\nWe promised ourselves we\u2019d prevail<\/p>\n
And we will all go up together
\nWe said we\u2019d all go up together
\nYes we\u2019d all build Earth together
\nRemember China?
\nRemember America First?
\nWe left our manhood
\nOn Bigotry’s demands
\nAnd who was wrong?
\nAnd who was right?
\nIt didn\u2019t matter in the thick of the fight<\/p>\n
We held the Wuhans
\nIn our crowded prisons
\nWe ruled the Futures
\nOf commodity prices
\nThrough the stock markets
\nWe held the grains
\nFrom the hungry Slumburbs<\/p>\n
And we were hard
\nAs hard as air
\nTo social distancing
\nTo remand prisoners who\u2019d not get a godfather
\nAnd we all stood down from Hubris<\/p>\n
Now we will all build Earth together
\nWe said we\u2019d all build Earth together
