Wednesday 6th March, 2019 is the sixty-second Independence anniversary of our beloved country Ghana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Congratulations to H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, president of the Republic of Ghana and Commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


And Happy Anniversary to all Ghanaians and people of Ghanaian descent, both home and wherever dispersed over the surface of earth and water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


This year’s national parade takes place in Tamale, the first national parade to be held outside Accra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


It is to mark the enskinment in January of Ya-Na Abukari Mahama II, the Overlord of the Dagomba kingdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


No doubt, arranging logistics will be a herculean task for the leadership of the security services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Please do not worsen their work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


No heavy starch together with alcohol; both are dehydrating. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


We have heard scandalous stories; horrible stories of what people eat and drink before going on parade; no need to state them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


OK \u2013 Fufu, Akpeteshie and the upscaled Ogoglo derivative, Kokonte (aka Laprewa; Okpo latsa; Kaaya J\u025b\u014b), Banku with soup and all the aphrodisiacs as desserts\u2026\u2026please don\u2019t mention Shisha and the evil baby tramadol. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The midday temperature in Tamale will be 41 DEGREES CELSIUS; the humidity, 16 percent and the wind speed 10KM per hour, which means very little to no breeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stadium is enclosed; not open and airy like Independence Square, Accra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We salute the ram, the symbol of the Dagomba kingdom and mascot of the 6 Infantry Battalion (6BN), Tamale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Royal Salute, our best parade horse, we salute you too. You are a good horse that has served the state well at the Accra parade over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


No doubt these animals are better trained and more disciplined than well\u2026\u2026\u2026\u2026never mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


So if we are worried about the health and wellbeing of these animals\u2026\u2026\u2026..and YOU go and drink\u2026\u2026.No, you go and \u201cquaf\u201d, break calabash and break bottles \u2013 as we say in Ghanaian lingo; then we shall have a situation on our hands. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


Please and please again, Ghana has NO AMBULANCE AND NO EMERGENCY NATIONAL PLAN; we beg you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following last Sunday\u2019s earthquake (just three days ago), POTROG has instructed that a national emergency response plan should be prepared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Now, that should be a further warning to you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


We honour L\/Cpl Prince Charles, a ram, the first mascot of 6BN, Tamale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n


6BN, the 6th battalion of Infantry of the Ghana Armed Forces, we salute you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The ram is indeed the symbol of protection and sacrifice in many cultures, traditions and religions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
